- The word PODORYTHMIE is Quebecois for "foot rhythms," and is also the name of a band hailing from the U.S. and Canada. Sue, Pascale, and Cil represent 3 / 4 of the full band. They are known for their high energy and good time performances of French Canadian music and dance. Fiddle, accordion, songs and lots of hard shoe step dancing interspersed with crankie (moving panorama) shows makes their performances unique. Learn more at Podorythmie's website.
La Famille Léger:
Louis Léger - Fiddle, accordion, feet, spoons, vocals
Devon Léger - fiddle, feet and vocals
- They are a true family band who play Acadian and French-Canadian music from Eastern Canada. They live in Seattle, Washington and play Contra Dances, concerts, festivals, and even dinner parties. Devon Leger plays fiddle and Louis plays accordion, fiddle, spoons, and sings. Louis hails from a distinctive Acadian family from New Brunswick, and spent much of his youth in Québec City. They often perform with other family members, including Dejah, who plays piano, guitar, sings & stepdances. Learn more at La Famille Léger's website.
