Every year around the Fall Equinox, we gather at the Tacoma Glass Museum Bridge to sing together. Sheet music is provided, and attendees are encouraged to bring their own lanterns, which we light as the sun sets, marking the equal hours of light and dark, saying goodbye to summer and hello to fall. We hope to make this year's bridge sing live up to our original vision:
We are inviting Tacoma singers and ensembles of all sorts to come make their own kind of music all along the bridge. We'll first span the bridge with a smorgasbord of song, then gather together for a mass sing, exploring the soundscapes of the bridge artwork and architecture and the city sounds beyond as we raise our voices together and cross the bridge together, ending up in the Washington State History Museum Amphitheater.
Come take it all in, bring your (school/church/community/family/friends/whatever)ensemble, or sing with the Revels ensemble. If you'd like to be part of the opening smorgasbord of song, click for more details.
Parking is either on the Pacific Ave side of the Bridge of Glass which starts at the History Museum, or at the end of the Bridge on Dock Street next to the Museum of Glass. There is also a bus stop near the west end of the bridge on Pacific Ave, close to the Washington State History Museum.
